Pardon My Blog
May 19 2008
I hate the idea of blogging. It seems so self-indulgent. A symptom of narcissism run rampant. Plus, everyone’s got one.
But I do like to write. And I do have some insights to share now and again. Things that might provoke a little thought or reveal a valuable nugget that changes your life. Seems worth the risk, don’t you think? I’ll put myself out there if you, dear reader, choose to take it all in once in while.
But design is all about working within parameters, so here are a few I pledge to maintain:
1—While I may mention my two beloved young sons, I promise not to write entries devoted entirely to their latest exploits. The same applies to my dog.
2—No political rants. The last seven years have worn me out anyway.
3—Exclamation points will be used judiciously and never, ever, in groups of two or more.
Sometimes I’ll write for my colleagues. Sometimes for clients. Sometimes both. You’ll know it when you read it. I’ll try to keep it light and jargon-free whenever possible, though I’m not promising that the occasional F-bomb won’t creep in. It happens, people.
I love this gig of mine! Watch this space and you’ll see what I mean.
